5 THINGS TO DO THIS LABOR DAY WEEKEND!

Labor Day is here! Check out some fun activities happening near you. Enjoy your three day weekend and be safe! #LaborDay2018

Circles Salt Lake is excited to host a community summer celebration featuring food carts, crafts and games for kids, face painting, henna, classic cars, a live DJ, and more! This is a free, family-friendly event! Come learn about Circles Salt Lake and the work we are doing with families in poverty in Salt Lake City. Circles Staff and Participants will be there to share their stories, and information about how you can get involved. Together we can end poverty!

The Salt Lake Community College Twilight Concert Series, historically produced by the Salt Lake City Arts Council, is one of the longest-running and most revered public arts programs in Salt Lake City.

“We can come together, we won’t give up on the fight,” sings Nashville’s Moon Taxi on their smash single “Two High,” a song that catapulted them to the top of the streaming charts and the forefront of the national stage. Filled with emotive vocals, a percussive beat, and some unexpected, infectious horns, it’s a track that shows the band – which has been together for over a decade – venturing into more adventuresome territory than ever. Fearlessly melding rock with pop hooks, clever synths and roots touchstones gleaned from their home in Music City, Moon Taxi’s forthcoming fifth record and first for RCA will find the five-piece doing what they do best: coming together and fighting for music that triumphs above all.

Come learn to dance the Latin style that you can then dance to the music of a live Salsa Band! Don’t know how? Come at 7 to learn the basics. With or without a partner, we will teach you all you need to know!

Instruction from 7-8pm Live band from 8-9pm DJ and dance from 9-10pm

This will be monthly throughout the summer in the Orchard!

The Park City Pony Club, the local chapter of The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. is pleased to announce that they will be hosting the first annual Intermountain Region Tetrathlon Rally at the Oakley Arena, September 1-3, 2018.  While the main event is only open to Pony Club Members and associated riding centers, one event will be open for limited public participation:  The Tet(rathlon) Discovery Clinic!

The ‘Tet Discovery Clinic’ is designed to be a fun way for kids, ages 4-12, to learn about a unique sport.  This two hour event will be held from 10:00am to noon at the Oakley Recreation Center on Saturday, September 1, 2018 and will teach kids all about Pony Club (hint: a “pony” is not a baby horse) and the tetrathlon by participating in mock tetrathlon events, first hand: running, target practice with an with an air pistol, riding on “stick horses” around a jump course – stick horses the kids will create themselves. Kids will get to tour the barn, meet our horses and ride our friendly ponies, which is always the highlight of any Pony Club event. Parents are welcome to either stay and watch the action or else drop their kiddos off while they run errands or work out.
